MOVING MEMORIALS is an ongoing project composed of 13 mobile handmade artist books with printmaking techniques that explore historic truths, human rights issues and mass resistance in contemporary Chile. The series and its mobility, rejects a fix past and an idealistic progress, calling instead for an open book and an open narrative. These artist books are presented through a performance creating spaces to activate the viewer’s affects through the experience of silence, that very silence, then transforms into a metaphoric voice in the present. The series of 203 original copies has been created, designed, printed, and bound by the artist from 2012-today. Moving Memorials range from limited editions of one-of-a-kind to 50 copies and are part of more than 80 international collection including The MET (NY), The National Musuem of Women in the Arts (DC), The Walker Art Center (MN), The Museum of Memory and Human Rights (Chile), The Musuem Meermanno (ND) and The Pompiou (FR).
